Why We’re Doing This
This event exists for two reasons. The first is to thank the Nokomis and Venice community that has kept Captain Eddie’s going for over 31 years. The regulars who come every Monday for a smashburger, every Tuesday for tacos, every Sunday for all-day happy hour- this one is for you. You’re the reason a locally owned tiki bar has outlasted every chain that’s opened and closed in this area over the past three decades.
The second reason is clean water. Florida’s Gulf Coast waterways are the foundation of everything this restaurant is built on: the local fishermen we source from, the seafood that goes on the From the Market board, the outdoor bar that only works because the air coming off the Gulf is worth breathing. Supporting organizations that protect that resource is not a branding exercise. It’s the right thing to do.
